Tuesday, February 13th, 2007New Boat for Parker Pond
Tuesday, February 13th, 2007We now have a brand new way to enjoy Parker Pond. Larry and I bought a nine foot Alumacraft john boat Saturday..it’s all decked out with paddles and ready to go. The beach is in fine shape this month and the fish are happy because we are now pouring food to them twice a day. Should be some good fishing, boating and swimming this year!
Welcome to the New Seventy-four Ranch Blog
Friday, February 9th, 2007Welcome to our new blog. We decided to start a blog because so much is always happening at the ranch. So this is your personal invitation, to all guests, future guests and ranch supporters to check in and see what is going on. Today our ranch foreman, Menny, is getting another truck load of fire wood. We’ve had lots of guests this winter, and we keep the cabins stocked. There is always a fire going in the living room of the Butler-Cape House. We love it and so do our Jack Russells, and Monkey, our toy fox terrier. There’s quite a little circle of pups around the fire every afternoon and evening.
We are also getting our beef for the year from Sheriff’s Meat Processing. This year, Menny’s family will split a steer with us. And three other families have a steer each. We are proud of the quality of our beef. And it gives us peace of mind to know that there are no growth hormones or antibiotics to worry about. In addition, we are curing the hides, for our use.
We also have three weanlings up in the corral. Quixote, Wonder if Doc Did It, and Blue Ides of Wonder are all eager for grain, alfalfa and attention. I’ll be heading out there today when I return from Atlanta.
